Affiliations And Endorsements

The Health Tourism Corporation, Inc. is fully endorsed and supported by:

• The Costa Rican Tourist Board
• The Physicians and Surgeons Association
• The Dental Surgeons Association
• The Nurses Association
• The Costa Rican Health Ministry
• The Costa Rican Social Security System

While we work with many hospitals and clinics, we are not affiliated with any one specific entity. In providing the best of the best, HTC tries to maintain a position of neutrality in order to more effectively monitor health care services from those providers we recommend. We do work closely with, but are not limited to:

• Hospital Santa Rita in cases of Cosmetic Surgery and OB-GYN issues
• The Medical Laser Center for cosmetic laser treatments, hair transplants and minor cosmetic surgical procedures
• The Costa Rican Infertility Institute for related issues and for female oncology issues
• The Ophthalmology Laser Clinic for advanced laser treatment of the eyes
• Saint Michael Medical Services for obesity problems

Many of the specialists with whom HTC works use their own clinics or clinics with which they are comfortable.

Important Notice

It is unfortunate that there are those coming to Costa Rica for medical treatment whose sole motive is to take advantage of "cheap" prices. While "cheap" prices can be found here, the Health Tourism Corporation does not recommend nor work with medical specialists whose low prices preclude quality and guaranteed work. Specialists who can not, will not or do not provide the high level of service we consider appropriate for our clients are not included on our roster or are removed for non-compliance with our standards.

Likewise, those health tourists interested only in receiving medical services for bargain basement prices need not request the services of HTC. We will not search out medical services for any potential client based solely on lowest available price. However, we will assure the health tourist requesting our services that those specialists with whom we work will provide the highest quality services at the fairest prices, and for a cost considerably lower than can be found in, for example, the United States. These services, though perhaps not the lowest priced in Costa Rica, will be 100% guaranteed by the provider.

If a health tourist client of HTC is not satisfied, for sound reasons, with the quality of service received from any of the specialists we have recommended, we will work with the client and the service provider to reach a positive solution. If necessary, we will contact alternative specialists. A client of HTC can ask for a second or third or fourth opinion at any time and we will be happy to oblige. If, before a medical treatment is received, a client is uncomfortable with or opposed to a particular specialist, HTC will arrange for another, equally qualified, specialist. If a client changes his or her mind as to the necessity of the treatment before treatment begins, HTC will gladly arrange an alternate plan.

Before finalizing travel and treatment plans it is in the health tourist's best interest to ask HTC for a general idea of travel/treatment costs. We gladly provide such guidelines without charge. Final cost estimates relating to individual treatments depend on a face-to-face consultation between the medical specialist and the health tourist. Should the charges arrived at by the specialist at the time of consultation be out of line with the general estimates we have provided, the health tourist always has the option of asking for another specialist or withdrawing, without prejudice, from the program.

The services of Health Tourism Corporation are of an intermediary nature. HTC cannot be held liable for any claim a health tourist may have or file against a service provider. Our referrals are based on the extensive information we collect about the medical and tourism sectors in Costa Rica and on the information received in good faith from past clients. HTC does guarantee every client that we will give 100% of our efforts to plan, supervise and coordinate the best possible visit to Costa Rica.
